Isuarsivik Regional Recovery Centre is offering culturally responsive services that support the collective healing of Nunavimmiut and their loved ones facing trauma and addiction in Kuujjuaq and across communities and beyond. The Centre focuses on reclaiming cultural identity as the basis for healing, which is made possible through Inuit ancestral knowledge combined to a variety of modern care models including motivational, psychoeducational and emotionally-focused therapy interventions.
At Isuarsivik, the Administration Department provides essential operational support to the Programs team in the delivery of all in-house and external services. It is further responsible for managing procurement processes and for ensuring the optimal functioning, maintenance, and safety of all Isuarsivik assets, including facilities, IT infrastructure, and vehicles.
The IT Services Specialist holds a key role in designing and delivering training on IT environment and equipment to staff as well as keeping computer systems running smoothly and efficiently. The professional is also responsible for monitoring and managing any security breaches within IT systems, and diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hardware and software components for efficient system operation.
Purpose of position
Under the direction of the Administration Manager, the IT Services Specialist will provide IT support to all employees needing assistance and manage a variety of technology systems and equipment. They will be the first and only point of contact for IT support within the organization.
Essential duties
and responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide day-to-day technical support for employees, including diagnosing and resolving issues related to hardware, software, and network systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Windows Server environments (2012, 2016, 2019), ensuring optimal system performance and reliability.
- Manage and resolve issues related to Windows 11 operating systems and user applications.
- Support and maintain traditional and IP telephony systems, ensuring stable and reliable communication services.
- Monitor, configure, and troubleshoot network components, including DNS, DHCP, routing, and wireless connections.
- Maintain the tools website for Isuarsivik (PHP, Laravel, Server)
- Administer and support Microsoft 365 environments, including Microsoft Admin Centers and SharePoint Online.
- Assist in maintaining website content and functionality through WordPress management and troubleshooting.
- Ensure the proper functioning and security of network firewalls and other security systems.
- Perform regular maintenance and updates on computer systems and network equipment.
- Document technical procedures, incidents, and solutions to improve troubleshooting efficiency and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with team members and vendors to support system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT services by identifying recurring issues and recommending preventive measures.
- Participate, occasionally, in the development, testing, or maintenance of internal web applications or tools.
- Other related tasks requested by direct supervisor.
Qualifications
Education
- College diploma in Information Technology (IT), or equivalent experience (an asset);
- IT vocational training (an asset).
Work experience
- Two (2) years of experience in a similar role.

Language
- Ability to read, write and speak English is mandatory.
- Ability to read, write and speak Inuktitut is considered an asset.
