Isuarsivik Regional Recovery Centre offers culturally responsive services that support the collective healing of Nunavimmiut and their loved ones facing trauma and addiction in Kuujjuaq, across communities, and beyond. The Centre focuses on reclaiming cultural identity as the foundation for healing, drawing on Inuit ancestral knowledge alongside modern care models such as motivational, psychoeducational, and emotionally-focused therapy.
Position Overview
The Recovery Team is responsible for delivering Isuarsivik’s healing programs, primarily the 8-week in-house program and the 10-day Healing on the Land Week. In close collaboration with the Inuit Values and Practices Team, the Recovery Team ensures that guests admitted to Isuarsivik have access to high-quality, culturally grounded, and specialized recovery services.
The Recovery Services Manager plays a key leadership role in coordinating the deployment of the programs while overseeing the delivery and continuous improvement of recovery programming. Working collaboratively with other departments across Isuarsivik, the Recovery Program Manager helps ensure the effective, safe, and culturally relevant services delivery to guests.
Purpose of position
Under the direction of the Director of Programs, the Recovery Services Manager is responsible for the coordination of the onsite recovery program. This includes coordinating program schedules, reviewing and updating clinical policies and procedures, and providing guidance and support to Recovery Counsellors.

and responsibilities
The Recovery Services Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of Isuarsivik’s recovery programs while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, culturally grounded, and clinically sound services to guests. This role encompasses program coordination, staff supervision, policy oversight, and cross-departmental collaboration, all carried out with a commitment to Inuit values and the continuous improvement of care.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee the logistics and activities of Isuarsivik’s healing and recovery programs in close collaboration with the Inuit Values and Practices Manager.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and clinical support to the team of Recovery Counsellors, promoting best practices and a high-quality guest experience.
- Supervise and support the Recovery Coordinator and Attendants Coordinator in the execution of their duties.
- Ensure the consistent application of organizational policies, procedures, and standards related to human resources, finance, administration, and service delivery.
- Identify staffing needs and participate in all stages of recruitment, selection, onboarding, orientation, and retention of Recovery team staff.
- Ensure high-quality documentation and case management practices, including guest files, progress notes, follow-up records, and data entry requirements.
- Participate in accreditation processes and quality assurance initiatives, including those led by Accreditation Canada and the Quebec Department of Health and Social Services.
- Manage employee performance, attendance, and workplace issues in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Monitor incidents, complaints, and critical events and ensure appropriate follow-up and reporting.
- Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure the delivery of safe, integrated, culturally relevant, and high-quality services.
- Prepare reports, statistics, and other documentation required for operational planning, quality improvement, and organizational accountability.
- Identify operational risks and service delivery challenges, and work proactively with leadership to implement appropriate solutions.
- Facilitate or assist in individual, family, and group therapeutic activities, when needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Programs.
Qualifications
Education
- University degree in a discipline of social intervention.
- Specialization in addictions.
- Completion of a management program is considered an asset.
Work experience
- 2 years in a management position in the field of social intervention.
- 5 years as an addiction counsellor.
- Candidate must be a certified addictions counsellor.

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Teams, Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Candidate must be willing to submit to a criminal records check.
Language
- Ability to read, write and speak English is mandatory.
- Ability to read, write and speak Inuktitut is considered an asset.
