Based in Kuujjuaq, Isuarsivik Regional Recovery Centre offers culturally responsive services that support the collective healing of Nunavimmiut and their loved ones facing trauma and addiction across communities, and beyond. The Centre focuses on reclaiming cultural identity as the foundation for healing, drawing on Inuit ancestral knowledge alongside modern care models such as motivational, psychoeducational, and emotionally-focused therapy.

At Isuarsivik, the Administration Department serves as a cornerstone of the Centre’s operations, overseeing the smooth running of its facilities, staff housing, and complementary guest services. The Department further provides essential support to the Executive Management Department and other managers, encompassing meeting coordination, procurement and purchasing across teams, and the continual optimization of work organization.

 

The Administration Manager must possess a broad operational vision across the Department’s various functions, with a proven ability to anticipate challenges, prioritize effectively, and maintain consistent operational stability. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, sound problem-solving abilities, and a strong sense of accountability.

Purpose of position

Under the leadership of the Director of Finance, Administration and HR, the Administration Manager is accountable for the timely and high-quality delivery of a broad range of services, including general administration, food services, information technology, transportation and travel, maintenance and janitorial operations, as well as the security of the main facility and staff housing.

and responsibilities

  • Create and implement processes and procedures for the delivery of administrative services across the organization.
  • Oversee the procurement of equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate files, records and correspondence through an electronic filing system.
  • Negotiate administrative service contracts in collaboration with the finance team (procurement, leases, etc.).
  • Ensure the proper functioning of the Centre, staff housing, and all other premises.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Coordinator – Food Services and the Coordinator of Maintenance and Janitorial Services.
  • Oversee the IT professional’s workflow to ensure the proper functioning of the organization’s technology network and equipment.
  • Liaise with managers of partner organizations to ensure effective coordination and integration of administrative services.
  • Manage and renew all vehicle insurance policies, ensuring adequate coverage and up-to-date documentation.
  • Oversee all mail and correspondence logistics, serving as the primary liaison with the post office and managing large cargo shipments.
  • Monitor service agreements and ensure diligent follow-up on shipping, air travel logistics, and contract obligations.
  • Implement and monitor fire safety protocols and emergency procedures to ensure the safety of staff and guests.
  • Manage the security and distribution of keys for the Centre and staff housing, maintaining a tracking system for all access points.
  • Manage travel and accommodation arrangements for Directors, senior management, staff, and consultants.
  • Perform other administrative duties as required

Qualifications

Education
  • Completion of College-level diploma.
  • Completion of a management program is considered an asset.
  • Coursework in organizational practices or human relations is considered an asset.
Work experience
  • 5 years related work experience.
  • 1 year of supervision experience.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solution-oriented and resourceful, with a strong ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural environment, both personally and professionally.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and logistical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Candidate must be willing to submit to a criminal records check.
Language
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Inuktitut and French proficiency are considered an asset.
