Isuarsivik Regional Recovery Centre acts as an addiction recovery centre for the 14 communities of Nunavik in northern Quebec. The centre offers an 8-week in-house program in addition to a variety of continued care services including individual, couple, and family meetings, community support group activities as well as recovery sessions directly on the land.

The Coordinator – Maintenance & Assets is responsible for ensuring the efficient management and maintenance of the organization’s assets and facilities. This role involves maintaining accurate records of all assets, including furniture, equipment, and vehicles and scheduling necessary maintenance. The Coordinator – Maintenance & Assets will implement inventory management systems to track supplies and ensure their timely replenishment, overseeing the upkeep of facilities to guarantee a safe, clean, and functional work environment.

The Coordinator – Administration Services is responsible for:

  • Ensuring the facilities are properly maintained and in good working order;
  • Coordinating and managing outside services and contractors;
  • Coordinating equipment collection and maintenance;
  • Construction and site maintenance;
  • Promoting the development of a positive cultural identity amongst staff and clients;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Administration Manager and Executive Management.

Purpose of position

Under the direction of the Administration Manager, the Coordinator – Maintenance & Assets position is to ensure the efficient management, maintenance, and upkeep of organizational assets and facilities, ensuring a safe, functional, and well-maintained work environment.

Essential duties
and responsibilities

ASSET MANAGEMENT AND FACILITY OVERSIGHT

  • Maintain accurate records of organization assets, including furniture, equipment, and vehicles. Schedule maintenance and track depreciation where applicable
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and functional work environment
  • Receive and prioritize maintenance requests from employees or departments. Coordinate with maintenance staff or external vendors for repairs and upkeep of facilities and equipment and the collection of the loader
  • Oversee construction site maintenance; coordinate and manage outside services and contractors.
  • Coordinate repairs, renovations, and improvements to enhance workplace efficiency and employee satisfaction

INVENTORY AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT

  • Implement inventory management systems to track supplies and ensure timely replenishment
  • Manage inventory of materials needed for maintenance tasks (e.g., HVAC filters, electrical components, building materials)
  • Maintain inventory of specialized tools used for maintenance and repairs (e.g., power tools, diagnostic equipment)
  • Oversee inventory of cleaning supplies (e.g., detergents, paper products, cleaning equipment)
  • Ensure tools are properly maintained, calibrated, and replaced as needed

SAFETY COMPLIANCE AND SERVICE COORDINATION

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in facility management practices
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address potential safety hazards
  • Manage relationships with maintenance service providers and contractors. Obtain quotes, negotiate contracts, and oversee service delivery
  • Coordinate with suppliers or vendors to ensure timely availability of materials required for ongoing maintenance projects
  • Coordinate with cleaning service providers or vendors for supply deliveries

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor or associate degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field would be considered an asset
  • Coursework in organizational practices or human relations would be an asset
  • Professional Certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), or similar credentials are a plus

***or/willingness to participate in mentorship and training programs to build these valuable skills.

Work experience
  • 2 years related work experience;
  • 1 year of experience as supervisor would be an asset
Knowledge and Skills
  • Additional training or coursework in inventory management, maintenance planning, or safety regulations can be
  • Personal and professional experience in a cross-cultural setting;
  • Ability to communicate professionally with staff members, Directors, contractors and the general public;
  • Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and professionalism;
  • Strong ability to work independently and/or in a team;
  • Ability to work outside standard office hours;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Candidate must be willing to submit to a criminal records check
Language
  • Ability to read, write and speak English is required ability to read, write and speak English is required; ability to read, write and speak Inuktitut is an asset

Salary / Benefits
