our 32-bed facility
Built in 2022, Isursivik’s main facility is located in Kuujjuaq (Quebec) on a stunning hill around the Nuuvuk Bay area overlooking the Koksoak River. The high-tech building, thoughtfully designed with respect to Inuit culture, provides two separate lodging wings, accommodations for partners and children, a convenient space for individual and group counselling, a daycare and a school room, a sewing and multi-purpose room for guests, several office spaces, and a few conference rooms for employees.
Lodging area
Isuarsivik is equipped with 6 large suites divided in two separate wings. Families have access to their own suite, while single individuals or couples may share accommodation depending on space. Each suite has 1 bathroom as well as 2 bedrooms and can accommodate infants and toddlers, thanks to additional on-demand cribs and bedding. All suites are equipped with a kitchenette and a living room.
Cafeteria
Isuarsivik’s food service area has one of the most breathtaking views in the country. It can accommodate up to 45 people in an eating set-up.
Community area
The qaggiqaluk and the two qaggiq make the uniqueness of Isuarsivik. These round shape areas allows for larger group gathering and are the designated spot for celebration, group sessions, and more.
Rest area
Adjacent to each of the two qaggiq is a common living area where all our guests can go to relax, read a book, watch a movie or chill on one of our nice bean bags.
Small groups and individual counselling rooms
Isuarsivik’s building is designed to best suit the needs of the 8-week Collective Recovery Program to offer our guests comfortable and intimate room for individual and family counselling session.
Daycare and tutoring area
Both daycare and school rooms enable children and youth to pursue their development while at the Centre. From 0 to 17 years old, infants, toddlers and youth are welcomed to accompany their parents and guardian going through their recovery journey. Our educators and tutors are available all weekdays from 9 to 5 and are proud to offer a variety of fun and positive learning activities, as well as to ensure that students continue their regular school curriculum.
