Isuarsivik Regional Recovery Centre acts as an addiction recovery centre for the 14 communities of Nunavik in northern Quebec. The centre offers an 8-week in-house program in addition to a variety of continued care services including individual, couple, and family meetings, community support group activities as well as recovery sessions directly on the land.
In this context, the Recruitment & Employee Experience Officer plays a crucial role in:

  •  Leading the recruitment process for non-management positions
  • Assisting in managing the day-to-day operations of the human resource department: administration of the human resources policies, procedures, and special projects.
  • Providing HR advising/coaching services to all employees.
  • Working with other departments to ensure all services and activities offered by HR are culturally relevant and safe.

Purpose of position

Under the direction of the Human Resources Director, the Recruitment & Employee Experience Officer will lead the full cycle recruitment process for non-management positions and assist in the daily administration functions of the Human Resources (HR) department.

Essential duties
and responsibilities

  • Assists in the development, maintenance and implementation of the recruitment process;
  • Leads the full-cycle recruitment process for non-management positions
  • Facilitates the hiring process from selection to onboarding;
  • Provides HR advising/coaching services to all employees.
  • Set-up and maintenance of all employee files, physical and electronic
  • Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for job openings.
  • Ensures the synergy of recruiting and hiring programs with the talent and training needs of the organization.
  • Assists in ensuring compliance with all provincial and federal labour law requirements.
  • Assists in making sure safety plans and procedures are implemented and followed.
  • Assists in building effective teams, while driving a culture of excellence aligned to Isuarsivik’s core values and guiding principles.
Other duties and responsibilities

With the direction of the HR Director, the Recruitment & Employee Experience Officer performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Training and development certification(s) preferred.
Work experience
  • Three (3) years of human resources experience or similar required.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Excellent technology, planning, administrative and organizational skills.
  • Personal and professional experience in a cross-cultural setting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and agile with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to deal sensitively with confidential employee information and personnel matters.

  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams etc..;
  • Candidate must be willing to submit to a criminal records check.
Language
  • Ability to read, write and speak Inuktitut as well as English are mandatory.
  • Ability to read, write and speak French would be an asset.
