Isuarsivik Regional Recovery Centre offers culturally responsive services that support the collective healing of Nunavimmiut and their loved ones facing trauma and addiction in Kuujjuaq, across communities, and beyond. The centre offers an 8-week in-house program as well as a variety of continued care services including individual, couple, and family meetings, community support group activities as well as recovery sessions directly on the land.
The Director of Finance, Administration, and Human Resources is a new role within the organization with a clear goal to provide strategic leadership and operational excellence across these core functions. A key component of this position is to mentor and support the professional development of Inuit managers and staff, contributing to the organization’s broader goal of building sustainable local capacity and leadership.
Drawing on their extensive experience, professionalism, and commitment to best practices, the Director of Finance, Administration, and Human Resources will ensure that all financial and administrative operations are efficient, compliant, and transparent. They will foster a culture of collaboration and accountability, bringing people together to achieve common objectives.
Purpose of position
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Director of Finance, Administration, and Human Resources plays a pivotal role in strengthening and stabilizing the organization’s administrative, financial, and human resources systems following a period of rapid growth and transformation.
Essential duties
and responsibilities
Leadership and Capacity Building
- Contribute to strategic planning and organizational development as part of the senior management team.
- Collaborate with other directors to align financial, administrative, and HR systems with organizational goals and delivery of high quality culturally responsive services.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to emerging managers and staff from HR, Finance and Administration departments.
Financial Management
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and audit preparation.
- Supervise the Finance Manager and oversee all financial operations, and financial reporting ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure the delineation of financial periods and the production of accurate financial management information to support sound organizational management.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, funding agreements, and regulatory requirements.

- Develop and maintain robust internal controls and risk-management frameworks.
- Provide strategic advice to the Executive Director and Board of Directors on financial performance and sustainability.
Administration
- Oversee administrative systems and policies to ensure effective organizational operations.
- Supervise Administration Manager and oversee implementation of processes that enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability across departments.
- Oversee procurement, contracts, and asset management in accordance with policies and funding guidelines.
- Support project management and reporting requirements for multi-funded initiatives.
Human Resources
- Supervise HR manager and oversee HR function, including staffing, performance management, compensation, benefits, and employee relations.
- Promote a positive workplace culture rooted in respect, equity, and well-being.
- Ensure directors and managers are supported in implementing consistent and fair HR practices.
- Guide the development of policies and procedures aligned with labour standards and organizational values.
- Ensure professional development and succession planning support Inuit employees in developing the skills, knowledge and confidence to assume professional. leadership and management roles.
Qualifications
Education
- University degree in business administration, finance, or accounting.
- CPA designation (or equivalent) is a strong asset.
Work experience
- Have at least 10 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in finance, administration, and/or HR leadership roles.
Knowledge and Skills

- Knowledge of the organization and its many stakeholders is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAGE50, AGENDRIX is considered an asset.
- Excellent English, both written and spoken.
- Functional French, both written and spoken, is considered an asset.
- Proven ability to build, mentor and lead high-performing teams and implement systems in complex environments.
- Experience working with Indigenous organizations or northern communities is a significant asset.
- Candidate must be willing to submit to a criminal records check.
Language
- Ability to read, write, and speak English (mandatory).
- Ability to read, write, and speak French or Inuktitut (an asset).
