Isuarsivik Regional Recovery Centre is offering culturally responsive services that support the collective healing of Nunavimmiut and their loved ones facing trauma and addiction in Kuujjuaq and across communities and beyond. The Centre focuses on reclaiming cultural identity as the basis for healing, which is made possible through Inuit ancestral knowledge combined to a variety of modern care models including motivational, psychoeducational and emotionally-focused therapy interventions.

The HR Coordinator holds a key role in facilitating the processes that support various functional areas within HR. The HR Coordinator organizes operations and monitors compliance with applicable laws as well as regulations from others. The professional also supports and notifies managers of potential issues and proposes corrective action.
Purpose of position
Under the direction of the HR Manager, the HR Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day management of operations for the human resource office, as well as the administration of the human resources policies, procedures, and special projects. The HR Coordinator works with other departments to ensure all services and activities offered by HR are culturally responsive and safe.
Essential duties
and responsibilities
- Keep records of insurance coverage, pension plan, and personnel transactions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
- Administer employee benefit programs, including paid time off.
- Inform Payroll department of any changes to employee status and monitors accuracy of payroll and documented hours.
- Publish new job listings to internal and external job boards.
- Schedule interviews with hiring managers and candidates.
- Coordinate background screening, license verification and reference checks of candidates.
- Organize the new hire and onboarding processes, including review of company policies, collection and processing of new hire paperwork, and completion of orientation.
- Schedule and monitors various training programs.
- Oversee employee evaluations, including meeting coordination, performance review finalization, and follow-up with supervisors.
- Receives and addresses employee questions regarding company policies, procedures and benefit plans.
- Coordinate recruitment events such as job fairs and open houses.
- Other related tasks requested by direct supervisor.
Qualifications
Education
- Administration technique or Certificate in Human Resources.
Work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in a non-profit.
- Experience in human resources.
- Experience of employee relations.
Knowledge and Skills
- Compassionate, optimism and agility.
- Passion for individual and team development.
- Knowledge of employment, labour relations, health and safety, accessibility and human rights law Canada/Quebec.
- Cultural competence supporting diversity, equity and inclusion.

- Strong ethical and moral compass.
- Ability to work and organize complex tasks independently.

- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
Language
- Ability to read, write and speak English is mandatory.
- Ability to read, write and speak Inuktitut is considered an asset.
